Anna Malone AISTD DDI DDE (Principal)
Anna trained from a young age in all areas of dance and gained a lot of dance experience
performing on stages across the U.K.
As a performer she has worked with industry giants including Nike, MTV, SONY, O2 and NOKIA
to name a few and her performance credits include appearances on BBC, ITV, SKY 1 and U.S.A Television.
A trained Dancer/Teacher and Choreographer, Ana continues to work in the dance industry
under the U.K.s top dance agents.
Having achieved straight A’s in her graded, vocational and teacher training examinations,
Ana Opened ‘ANAMAL’ with the intention of creating a school that provided the full dance experience,
with the aim of unleashing the potential in each and everyone of her students.
In order to concentrate on her students Ana has turned down offers of work as close to home
as London’s West End and as far from home as ‘Disney’ Japan.
Her dedication is second to none and her
abilities as a teacher are proven through the achievements of her students who are now bringing home
the gold in national and international competitions.
Caroline McGuinness (Breaking & Street)
A World Street Dance Champion twice over, Caroline has represented Anamal Dance Company
and the U.K in a variety of dance styles including Street, B’boying and funk.
Her knowledge of dance shows through her versatility as both a performer and a teacher.
Caroline has been described as the ‘No 1’ B’girl in the UK, is a principal coach with
Anamal's inter-schools teaching programme and is co-developer of the 'Unleash your potential' Dance
Initiative.
Jay Machell (Bboying - Breaking)
Jay Machell has been a teacher with Anamal for a number of years and has an
extensive background in the world of break dance and old school bboying.
Inspired from a young age Jay has performed in all major cities across the U.K and
has represented the UK in international events.
Winning numerous titles including the National Championships with his then bboy crew
‘Trinity Warriors’ he is currently a member of ‘Funkymentals’ Dance Group.
Jay is responsible for coaching our most advanced breakers and says the students or Anamal
are his biggest inspiration.
James Podmore (Singing/Drama/Musical Theatre)
James Podmore is a trained actor and singer and has a wealth of experience in both areas of the industry.
James continues to play an active role as a performer in both genres and his credits include supporting
Jason Donovan on his recent U.K comeback tour, performances at the prestigious Edinborough Festival and performances
with his then group ‘JPMac’ at venues as grand as London’s Hammersmith Apollo Theatre and The S.C.C In Glasgow.
James is a successful singer/songwriter and has worked with highly acclaimed song writing team
‘The Underdogs’ whom have written with Babyface, Toni Braxton and Janet Jackson to name a few. He is currently ‘jamming’
with no less than Madonna’s producer Merlin Emmanuel who was responsible for the huge hit ‘Hey Mr D.J‘.
James’ songwriting prowess landed him a publishing deal with London’s Westbury Music, famed for their work
with Beverly Knight.
James has a great rapport with the students, he is a fantastic impressionist and his classes are filled with
vitality and enthusiasm. His own talents are an inspiration to the students.
James writes original material for both drama and singing classes which is both to his credit and thoroughly
enjoyed by the students and audiences alike.
Nacer Hamadi aka "MisterStep" (Locking, Popping, Hip-Hop)
Developing his skills from a young age, MisterStep, originally from the South of France, was influenced by many of the pioneers and big figures of the Hip-hop and Funkstyle scene. Learning skills and techniques directly from legends such as; "The Electric Boogaloos", "Original lockers", Storm, Stiga Pop, Karl Kane Wung, Loose Caboose and Junior Almeida (to name a few). Thus allowing MisterStep to develop his own style, knowledge and understanding of Funkstyles and Hip Hop, which further fueled his passion for his artistry.
MisterStep has been an essential part of several dance crews as a Funkstyle dancer, being associated with "Influences", "Amer", "Full of Funk" (Winners of the Clash 66, France), "Boogie Brothers", "Funky Disciples/Electric Puppet" (Paris), as well as performing with "Freshin Attack", "Female Artistic" and "Supremos Crew" for International Dance Exchange. During this time they entered competitions, hosted exhibition shows as well as creating their own theatre pieces. With the "Amer" crew, MisterStep choreographed the self-titled piece "Amer"; later creating a piece with "Boogie Brothers" titled "Une journee dans la rue". MisterStep continues to build on his choreography repertoire, being asked to regularly choreograph and perform at various events around the world.
Today MisterStep continues to work with some of the biggest names in the industry and dance community across the world. Recent performances have seen him work with the likes of Bob Sinclair, Smoov Sauzë, Saian Supa Crew, France 3 Tv, Stiga Pop, L’ill pop, Boogaloo Walid, Said Bensani and Franck Corcoy at events like "Tear It Up" (Liverpool) and "Winter Music Conference" (Miami), festival international "Benicasim" (Spain), "Ida Y vuelta" (Perpignan), La Villete (Paris). MisterStep continues to enter international battles at "Juste Debout", "Original Bboy Contest", "Miami Bboy Master Pro-Am", "Clash 66" as well as performing at events for Mercedes, Adidas, Puma, Asics and Virgin.
Now as an established Funkstyles and Hip Hop dancer, MisterStep continues to perform, battle and teach around the USA, Europe, and Asia. He is currently a founding member of the "FunkyMentals" crew, a connection with dancers from all over
Europe, and the international dance event "Dance Flowetry".
Melissa Li AISTD ARAD (Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz and National)
Melissa trained at the Elizabeth Hill School of Dance and Drama gaining Intermediate Tap, Inter foundation Modern, Gold Jazz and Grade 8 and Intermediate RAD Ballet.
More recently she trained at Preston College by ISTD and RAD Examiners - gaining Adv 2 level ISTD Ballet, Tap, Modern, National and Adv 2 RAD Ballet.
As well as obtaining her CDE teaching qualifications in ISTD Ballet, Tap, Modern and National.
During her training Melissa appeared in pantomimes including ‘Sleeping Beauty’, ‘Puss in Boots’ and the ‘King and I’ but has since turned her sights to a full time career in teaching.
Melissa has experience teaching in a number of school across Merseyside and has an outstanding 100% student pass rate with incredible results across the board.
An exceptional dance technician - she is a key member of our technical faculty.
Danielle Walker ISTD (Modern, Jazz and Tap)
Danielle was a student of Preston College and now teaches within our technical department as a tutor of the ISTD Modern,
Jazz and Tap syllabi.
Danielle has trained in all areas of the technical dance genres and had performance credits that include venues such as the
Royal Albert Hall.
Nick Dale (Gymnastics/Skills Coach, Fitness)
Nick has an outstanding set of teaching credits and works with our students at Anamal to improve their level of gymnastic
ability and skill in this area.
Nick is an artistic gymnastics coach with over 15 years experience at both general and squad level.
Nick's input within Anamal is fantastic and his support and experience invaluable.
Jenna Jungbluth (Contemporary, Limbering)
Jenna has a BA(Hons) in Dance and trained in both New York and Germany.
Jenna teaches at various professional level collefes and dance institutes around the North West and is
herself a dancer with her own contemporary company 'Tacitun'.
Jenna is one of the newest members of our team, offers a wealth of experience in this field and has a
natural rapport with our students.
Belen Manley (Baby Street (3-6 yrs))
Belen is part of the foundations of Anamal and has trained with us since her teens.
Belen is now an FS2 (Reception) teacher by profession, but remains with Anamal in her role as our
teacher of 'Baby Street'.
She has a real gift when it comes to working with young children and her ability to lead a class of
youngsters is outstanding.
Becky Dunn and Sohia Dollery (Teaching Assistants)
Becky and Sophia are Teaching Assistants with Anamal and you will get to see more and more of them
as each are now taking their own classes and doing a fantastic job.
Becky has taken to teaching like a duck to water and has a real talent when it comes to working alongside
our younger dance students.
Sophia is coach to our newcomers team 'Reflex' who have already taken first place at the North West Street
Dance Challenge 2010.
Sophia and her team are now working towards their next competition and we wish them the best of luck.
Tracey Connor (Reception/Administration)
Apart from her role as Head of Administration, Tracey is Anamal's Head Matron and
looks after the health and welfare of all our student.
Quite simply, she is the backbone of Anamal and works tirelessly to sure that everything
is in working order... and then some!
Charlotte Hale (Reception)
Charlotte is a new addition to our reception and administraion.
Charlotte is an ex-dancer/teacher and is therefore an ideal addition to our team here at Anamal
and has already fitted in perfectly.
Pam Brey (Zumba)
Pam is the newest member of our team and is on board as our resident Zumba Coach.
Zumba is a fitness class inspired by the dance culture from across the world.
Pam's classes are 'party party' all the way - an excellent example of what Zuma is all about!
